The latest government notification regarding Eid holidays in Pakistan was issued on Tuesday, June 21, 2023

In the latest update, the government has made an amendment to the holiday schedule for Eid-ul-Adha. As per the new notification, an additional day off has been granted on Wednesday, June 28th, extending the break to five days, which includes the weekend.

Previously, the government had declared a two-day break on June 29th and 30th (Thursday and Friday) for those working a five-day week. Additionally, individuals working six days a week were given a three-day holiday from June 29th to July 1st (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).
However, with the recent announcement, the holidays will now commence on June 28th and conclude on July 2nd, encompassing the weekend as well. The official notification regarding this revised holiday schedule has been released.

Under the leadership of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the Committee gathered in Karachi to observe the crescent moon of Zil Hajj after sunset, as per their customary practice. Following the successful sighting, the Committee confirmed the start of the month and consequently determined the date for Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan to be Thursday, June 29th.
